The Comprehensive Pest Control Laboratory focuses on the sustainable development of agriculture and the needs of social production in my country to develop the growth and development of important pathogenic fungi of major crops such as corn, soybeans, rice, etc., pathogenic mechanisms and the occurrence and prevalence of pathogenic diseases, as well as green integrated control, etc. the study. Focus on the molecular level of the main plant pathogenic fungi growth and development mechanism, morphogenesis, pathogenic differentiation, as well as pathogens and host plant interaction mechanism. At the same time, study the principle of prevention and control of its main diseases and key technologies for comprehensive prevention, especially starting from the ecological system, making full use of natural resource factors, and carrying out research on biological prevention and control mechanisms and applied technologies.

The laboratory has formed relatively distinctive research characteristics. In terms of molecular regulation of growth and development of major plant pathogens such as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Setosphaeria turcica, molecular mechanisms of asexual and sexual reproduction, pathogenic mechanisms, and principles and new methods of biological control of diseases, etc. Some important research results have been obtained, which has a certain academic influence at home and abroad. Soybean Sclerotinia Comprehensive Prevention and Control Technology (Won the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Jilin Province) In the main soybean producing area of Jilin Province and China Grain North Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., the key technologies for comprehensive prevention and control of soybean sclerotinia disease were integrated, and the core was established. The demonstration area has achieved significant economic, social and ecological benefits. The laboratory has also strengthened international cooperation and established long-term and stable cooperative relations with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Cornell University, and the University of Alberta in Canada.

In the past five years, he has hosted and participated in more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, with a total funding of 15 million yuan. In the direction of the formation and development mechanism of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum fruiting body, successively received 4 general projects and 1 key research and development plan (key special project of Sino-US international cooperation) funded by the National Natural Science Foundation; in the direction of crop sclerotinia disease prevention and control, presided over the Ministry of Agriculture's public welfare 2 projects in the industry; presided over the Doctoral Program Fund (Ph.D. Supervisor) project of the Ministry of Education. In the direction of integrated green prevention and control of major corn diseases and insect pests, he presided over the completion of the key project of the Ministry of Agriculture for the cultivation of new varieties of genetically modified organisms, presided over and participated in 6 national scientific and technological support projects; obtained 21 authorized patents, published 35 SCI papers; obtained scientific and technological progress in Jilin Province 1 first prize and 2 second prizes. Presided over the cultivation of 2 new high-yield and disease-resistant varieties of corn, and participated in the cultivation of 5 new high-yield, high-quality, disease-resistant varieties of rice and soybean. The main scientific research results have been widely applied in the main grain production areas in Northeast China, and the accumulated economic benefits have reached nearly 1.5 billion yuan. Make outstanding contributions to increase grain production and income in Northeast China.

The laboratory currently has 11 fixed personnel, including 3 professors (Pan Hongyu, Liu Jinliang, Zhang Yanhua), 1 professor-level senior engineer (Tang Mingxiang), 3 associate professors (Zhang Xianghui, Wang Yan, Wang Cheng), and 1 senior experimenter ( Zhang Xinsheng), 1 lecturer (Hu Jun), 2 experimenters (Wang Fengting, Jia Dongmei).
